Ólavur Frederiksen, Faroese photographer, born in Tórshavn 1970. Although he is both a certified electrician and graphic printer, he has always had a keen interest in photography. The past ten years he has more or less worked full-time as a photographer, and his photos have appeared in numerous travel magazines and books worldwide.

His photos have also appeared on Faroese stamps. In November 2010 one of the stamps won the stamp competition for the prettiest Sepac stamp 2007/2009.

His graphic background, combined with his use of the latest cutting edge technology, shines through in his work. The faroese nature, with the ever changing light, is a constant source of inspiration to any artist. Ólavur has spent many thousand hours out there, awaiting the right moment – bringing us, mere spectators, an aboundance of stunning images.
